Boy Scout Troop 803

We are completing the attendee list of scouts, scouters and parents who want to reserve a spot for this exciting adventure as the previous emails have detailed.  Anyone not having already registered, please email me ASAP.  One change is that those scouts 12 years of age or older by Sept 30, 2012 are eligible.  This is a change.  All individuals will be reviewed by their guides for maturity level and physical ability to participate in each program while we are there.  In rare cases, one may need to participate in a program other than that days activity as planned due to the guides belief that it would be too dangerous for that person or the crew at large.  We currently have 7 scouts and 4 adults planning on making this trek.  If questions, please call me at 636-346-8665 to discuss anything further.  Our first organizational meeting will be held within the next couple of weeks, as soon as the roster is set.

This year's New Horizons Chapter Winter Banquet for Shawnee Lodge is on Monday night, Feb 6 at Bonhomme Presbeterian Church on Conway Road.  The program will be an exciting one, featuring Snakes Alive after a tasty dinner.  We will gather at 6:00 pm and dinner will be at 6:30 pm with the program following.  The cost is $12.00 if paid by 1/30 and $15.00 up untill the night of the dinner (after 1/30, reservations are only first come untill they are full).  Reservations are made individually and must be made online.  You can pay by credit card, PayPal, or online check.  Please go to

I wanted everyone in our scout family to know that we had a very productive meeting this past Saturday to reorganize our troop's recruiting. Dale Schwartz, Kristin Radina, Sarah Felman, Eric Winschel and myself met for a few hours to identify our short term and longer term goals and tasks.

Dale has agreed to serve as recruiting chair with Eric assisting and eventually taking over the role in the future. David Hume is assisting with his contacts with the Webelos packs.

Dale may call on any of us at anytime to assist him.

The February campout will be a recruiting/first campout for Webelos. The group is also organizing an archery session for later in January with the Webelos.

I have asked Angela to serve as our training coordinator during Sherry Ann's absence Please contact her with questions and coordination of training. She will also help with Red Card training in the spring

There are additional training opportunities for some fun and exciting programs our council offers. More details will follow.
